Safe Enough
Invitation In
Where in me already feels soft or safe — even a little?
Whisper
You don’t need to feel completely safe
to begin.
You just need
a single breath that doesn’t hurt,
a corner of your body that isn’t clenched,
a place inside that says,
“I could stay here a little longer.”
Safe enough
is still safety.
It counts.
It matters.
You don’t have to heal everything.
You only have to notice
the parts of you that are already healing.
What This Might Be
“Safe” can feel like an impossible word —
especially if your body has been a battlefield,
or a place of silence, or shame, or too much.
But most people don’t return to their bodies all at once.
They return in glimpses.
Moments of softness.
A single sigh.
A loosening jaw.
A nap that lingers.
“Safe enough” is the doorway —
not the destination.
Questions to Carry
What part of my body feels less tense than the rest?
When have I felt just a little more settled — even if it didn’t last?
What would it mean to trust small signs of safety?
Gesture of Care
The Gentle Scan
Find a comfortable seated or lying position.
Close your eyes and slowly scan your body, asking:
“What feels least distressed right now?”
“Where is there a little bit of ease?”
You’re not looking for perfection — only possibility.
Rest your attention there.
Let that small safety expand, even just slightly.
Grace
You don’t need your whole body to feel safe
to begin the journey inward.
You just need one place
that doesn’t say no.
Start there.
That’s enough.
That’s always enough.
