About These Cards
These cards weren’t planned. They arrived in stillness—and stayed.
I don’t know who these cards are for.
Truly—I don’t.
They weren’t written with a plan.
They came through in moments of stillness, heartbreak, awe, and presence.
They weren’t sought.
They were received.
It all began one ordinary day, walking my little dog in the park. Nina Simone's voice sang "Feeling Good" through my headphones—my very first time ever hearing it!—and as each lyric played, the world responded.
Birds flying high.
Dragonfly out in the sun.
Butterflies having fun.
Blossoms on the trees.
It happened exactly like that—uncannily, undeniably.
It felt like life itself was singing back to me, and I knew what it meant:
When I am still enough to be truly present,
spirit meets me there.
That was the beginning of my haiku journey.
The start of listening to life’s quiet invitations.
The birth of this card deck.
Each poem since then has arrived like that—
in the unfolding, the aching, the everyday sacred.
I didn’t go looking for them.
They came to find me.
These aren’t affirmations.
They’re invitations.
To feel.
To soften.
To remember.
I have no ambition for them other than this:
That they meet someone at the exact right moment.
Maybe in a journal.
Maybe in a quiet room.
Maybe in love found.
Maybe in love lost.
Maybe in a supply closet hidden from your coworker’s eyes.
Maybe after someone has forgotten how to feel, and then remembers.
These words aren’t perfect.
But they are real.
Born from a life fully felt:
curious, cracked, poetic, afraid, reverent.
If you’ve found your way here, maybe you're one of the ones.
The soft-hearted.
The wondering.
The weary and wise.
I don’t need to know you to know these were made for you.
And for the me who still sometimes needs them, too.
