Small Signs of Life
Invitation In
What does aliveness feel like — even faintly?
Whisper
Not all awakenings arrive in thunder.
Sometimes they come like a twitch in the ankle,
a breath that reaches a little deeper,
a stretch that wants to linger.
Aliveness doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes it flickers.
Soft. Incomplete.
But real.
Maybe you feel nothing — and then,
your fingers tingle.
Your spine shifts.
Your eyes catch a bit more light.
This isn’t a return to who you were.
It’s a touching back in.
A noticing.
Life doesn’t demand all of you at once.
It asks:
“Would you like to feel something, just a little?”
What This Might Be
After stillness, numbness, or survival mode,
feeling anything again can be overwhelming — or go unnoticed.
But these tiny sparks —
a stretch, a breath, a reach —
are your body’s way of saying:
“I’m still here.”
Aliveness might not feel joyful at first.
It might feel strange, raw, even inconvenient.
That’s okay.
You’re not starting over.
You’re tuning back in.
Questions to Carry
When was the last time I felt even a flicker of sensation, movement, or curiosity?
What part of my body wants to move — or be noticed — right now?
What would “aliveness” look like today if it didn’t have to be big?
Gesture of Care
Micro-Movements
Set a timer for two minutes. Choose one part of your body — your hands, your jaw, your hips — and begin to move it slowly.
No agenda. No outcome.
Just see what it’s like to move.
Let your body decide how much or how little.
Pause and notice the after-feeling.
That’s aliveness.
Grace
Aliveness doesn’t always feel good.
Sometimes it just feels true.
You don’t need to leap.
You just need to notice
that something in you
has already begun.
